Family Pictures

A few weeks ago we were able to get family pictures taken by Dana Goodrich and I absolutely love them! There are so many great ones and these are just a few that I stole off of Jen's blog- Dana did an amazing job especially because two of her subjects were very far from being cooperative!

LOVE THEM ALL!

It's about time!

For the first time in THREE years... Our cupboards are free of these!

We have official been without a bottle for 5 days. I would have to say these five days have not been very pleasant and nap times have not gone well but I am sticking to it. It should have been done awhile ago but I'm a little depressed about admitting that she's not a baby anymore! Although, I think we could still get away with it because the lack of hair makes her still look like a baby. So.... if she doesn't start napping again you may see her toting her bottle around for a few more months!

Happy Third Birthday Jack

My baby boy turned three last week... THREE! Where in the heck did those three years go? He starts Preschool in just a few days. I swear those were the fastest three years of my life and I can't even believe how big and grown up he has gotten. We had a small party for him before we left for Idaho for the fair and we had pizza and a train cake for dessert.
Oh, and don't forget he was spoiled rotten by everyone too! New school clothes, preschool learning activities, excavator, trucks, candy... oh my!
He had seen the excavator at Costco a couple of days before his party. He wanted it BAD... I told him maybe he could get it for his birthday. Later that night when Grandma Nette called he immediately needed to speak to her. He proceeded to tell her that he wanted the excavator for his birthday. He told her it was at Costco by the chickens... of course when birthday time rolled around Grandma showed up with the beloved excavator and Jack and Ella have spent hours playing with the NOISY thing!

Some things about Jack right now...
* He LOVES strawberry milk.
* He asks every morning how many more days until his birthday.
* He is saving every penny he finds to go to Disneyland after Christmas!
* He tells me all the time that when he gets big he is going to drive a helicopter.
* He loves his Dad so much and asks every 5 minutes if he can call him and see if he's on his way home from work!

Happy Birthday little man!

Cassia County Fair 2010

Jack and Okie at the fair.

We headed to Idaho for the annual Cassia County fair last week and we had so much fun. Parades, bounce houses, sno-cones, stinky animals, family, friends oh and maple bars... what's not to love about the fair?!?!
We had a great time watching Mandy and Taylor get hypnotized and watching Mandy ride the mechanical bull. Jack really enjoyed the bounce houses with Okie and Emma and Ella just enjoyed all the different yummy things to eat. She's my eater! Lots of pictures and I had a hard time choosing so here ya go!

They were hypnotized into thinking that their shoe was their cell phone. Apparently my sister was having a deep conversation! :)

I LOVE yard sales!

I will admit that I am thrifty... okay some might call it cheap but I love getting a good deal. A good percentage of my kids toys, books and my house decorations come from yard sales. I hate paying full price for things! One of my best finds of the season was this beauty.... I got it for $5! It only worked in one gear but it was in PERFECT condition. Well Jack rode it for a day or two before it bit the dust. Enter Grandpa Lee.... a new gear box was bought and the Hummer is as good as new. Jack has spent countless hours on this thing along with his trusty co pilot Ella Rose. As soon as his eyes open he wants to ride it and will ride it all day long until the battery needs recharged. Overall it cost with the new gear box around $45.00. A steal if you ask me since new they are over $250! Just watch out... my toes have been run over several times and it HURTS! And this baby gets going fast so if you see him coming.... get out of the way! I've taught her well... never leave on a road trip without a soda for the road! They love to drive to the garden and pick tomatoes and pretend they've been to the grocery store! And these were all literaly taken at the crack of dawn... notice the hair and outfits... but Jack starts begging to go out and ride it the minute he wakes up!

Just so I'll remember....

Jack is full of it. Full of questions about EVERYTHING and how it all works. I'm sorry bud I'm not exactly sure of how an airplane flys or exactly how the sprinkler system turns on at night. They just do! Fortunately Ryan usually has a good technical answer for him that satisfies him! He is getting too smart for his own good... the other day in the car I was sitting at the light waiting to turn with my blinker on when from the backseat I hear "MOM turn your click click (blinker) off- you are wasting all the batteries!"

Hmmm.... maybe he has heard that a time or two huh!

Yost

When we were in Yost a couple of weeks ago we decided to take the kids and try a small photo shoot with them. A lot of my family originated from Yost and several of their homesteads are still standing although most of them BARELY still standing. We decided we wanted a few pictures by one of the old homesteads before they were no longer still standing. These were taken at the homestead of Emer Harris Taylor who is Jack and Ella's Great Great Great Grandpa. Afterwards we stopped by the cemetary in Yost and found his headstone. The kids had no idea what was going on but someday it will be cool to have these pictures.

Keep in mind this was after 2 nights of camping so we are looking a little scummy- next time we need to plan to take the pictures the first day we are there!

Splish Splash

It was so hot a few weeks ago.... Yes, I am really THAT FAR behind on blogging.... that we all decided to take a swim.... In the kiddie pool.... In the backyard.... that is two inches deep. The kids thought it was hilarious to see mom and dad swimming with them in their pool. It was a tight squeeze but we fit and it actually was quite refreshing although perhaps a tad bit white trash. But don't be surprised if you see us out there again soaking up the sun in our pool!

Friends Forever.... sometimes

Usually they are fighting... but there is the rare occasion that they pretend to like each other!
