What a Year......

Just wanted to take one last look at what a fun and exciting year this was for our little family..... Here are a few of the highlights (and just some cute pictures!) 3 Trips on an airplane. (Ryan to China, Jack and I to Washington DC and Nantucket)

We had a Holly Jolly Christmas!

I know, I know, I have been slacking in the blogging department. Thanks for the complaint Shawnae. I have been busy trying to switch Jack into his new room and to turn Jack's room into a "girly" nursery. So far everything is looking great and I will post some pics soon! I had been waiting until after Christmas to get everything ready for the baby and now that Christmas has come and gone it's time to get busy! Less than 12 weeks until our little princess is scheduled to arrive! So here you go...a picture explosion......

We had a great Christmas this year and I'm happy to report that my family finally made it here to celebrate with us. They did arrive a day late but we are glad that they made it! We celebrated Christmas Eve quickly at Ryan's parents and then came home and opened gifts with my family. Jack enjoyed opening a couple presents but quickly got bored of the idea. Needless to say we still have some wrapped gifts for him under the tree. I'm thinking the Easter bunny might swoop them up and redeliver them in his Easter basket. He was one spoiled little boy and got tons of great new toys. We headed out early Christmas morning back to the Paxman's to open gifts. Jack opened one or two things from his stocking and then chose to play with an old container of pink tennis balls for the rest of the morning. Why did we even bother buying him hundreds of dollars worth of gifts? But, I sure enjoyed opening all of his new toys! The new baby even got her first American Girl doll from Grandma Annette! The rest of the day was filled with visiting, eating, and relaxation which are just a few of my favorite things! We sure enjoyed the holiday and loved that we got to spend it with family!

We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas too and that you all have fun plans to celebrate the New Year. My big plans are to hopefully be sound asleep! Oh ya and in case any of you were wondering.... my husband didn't disappoint.... he remembered to buy me my bottle of water and delivered it wrapped in an empty pepsi box. (he does his shopping at the Albertsons checkout line Christmas eve. Not even joking!) This year he even spiced it up and added a few boxes of Hot Tamales. I know, I know you are all jealous of my insanely romantic and thoughtful husband! Love you baby and yes I loved my water and hot tamales..... they were delicious!

I'm Dreaming...

And Dreading a White Christmas! So far my family hasn't been able to come from Idaho to spend Christmas with us because of the weather and i'm bummed. The freeway from Idaho has been closed since Monday morning! Hopefully today will bring a little sunshine so that the roads will clear and they will make it! Unfortunately they are forecasting more snow! Please Mother Nature just let my family make it here and then you can snow all you want and make them stay for a good long visit!

On another note..... Does my kid look like he needs a coke this morning or what? He looks like he's had a rough night. I was sitting at the computer and he brings me this bottle of coke and begs me to open it!

We hope everyone has a MERRY CHRISTMAS and that everyone is safe and enjoying it with their families! Oh and we hope Santa finds his way to your house in all the snow too!

In Our Front Yard....

WE CAN BUILD A SNOWMAN........

Today it snowed like crazy and Jack and I took advantage of the perfect snowman making snow. Thanks to the Dalton's we had a cute little snowman making kit that we got for Christmas. Jack really enjoyed the snow this time and I think it's because I didn't put on his huge coat and snowboots so he could actually move! I actually had to carry him kicking and screaming back into the house because it was getting cold outside but he wasn't done playing I I love that it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

If you look close you can see him standing on the doorstep trying to catch a snowflake! And ya I shoveled the whole sidewalk and driveway so if I can't walk tomorrow you will know why! It wasn't long before he decided to give snow a taste! He thought it was a tasty treat!

Jolly Ole' St. Nick

Yesterday we set out to do a little Christmas shopping and then to go to Cabela's to see Santa. We shopped in Target for 30 minutes or so and came out to find a flat tire. Needless to say our plans were quickly changed. Instead of going to see Santa, Ryan's mom and sister came and rescued us so we didn't have to sit at the tire repair store for 2 hours! We instead joined them for lunch and a little shopping at Costco. So today I was DETERMINED to get Jack to see Santa and this was our last chance. We loaded him up and headed to Cabela's.
He waited patiently in line for 5 minutes.

But right as it was almost our turn.... he could wait no longer. He wouldn't wait for the people ahead of us to vacate Santa's lap so I had to hold him back. Unfortunately this didn't start out our visit on Santa's lap on a good note!
By the time it was his turn he was MAD that I had made him wait. Santa wanted me to just hold Jack on my lap and then both of us sit on his lap but I figured the old man's knee probably had a weight limit so we cut our visit short! Jack and Santa did finally become friends though when he offered Jack a candy cane which he loved.He didn't even bother for us to take off the wrapper before he started munching away! Overall we had a great visit with Santa and I can't believe next year we will have two kids to drag along and torture by making them go see Santa!

Last Thursday was the Frisby family Christmas party and we enjoyed some reindeer games. Jack got to model the "antlers" after the game was all done! He just may be the most "handsome" reindeer of all!

Snow much fun!

Ryan took today off of work because he had some extra days off to use up so we have enjoyed playing all day long! We loaded the kids up and took them to Carl's Jr to play and have lunch. On the way there we saw a hot air balloon up ahead. Jokingly I told Emma that Santa was probably in the balloon because his reindeer were taking a nap. When we got closer the balloon had come down low into town and what do you know.... Santa was hanging over the edge of the basket waving to all of the kids. I wish I would have had my camera with me but you should have seen her eyes light up when Santa was really flying in the balloon! It was too cute and Jack liked looking at Santa in the sky too! After we got home from town we decided Jack needed to play in the little bit of snow before it was gone. We bundled him all up and sent him out the door. Needless to say he wasn't a fan. I don't know if it was the fact that he couldn't walk with all of his snow gear on or if he just didn't know what the heck was going on. Emma and Ryan had a quick little snowball fight and when we were sufficiently freezing we all headed back inside! I love watching Jack experience new things and it's funny some of the things that I think he will love he doesn't like at all!

Emma and Ry had a snowball fight but she couldn't make her own snowballs - so being the good uncle he is- Ryan would make the snowballs for Emma to throw at him!

I love it when Ryan stays home from work to spend the day with us! I can't wait until next week when he has 5 days off in a row! Don't worry I will be ready to send him back to work after those 5 days are up!

Gingerbread Houses

My mom showed up with my nieces this weekend for a quick visit. We did some Christmas shopping on Saturday and then decided to make gingerbread houses. We called up Annette who supplied us with the recipe, pattern, decorating suplies and tons of candy. We had a great time making gingerbreads and were so surprised when it actually worked. (Usually we have to hot glue our houses together!) Thanks for all the supplies for our fun night Annette and we can't wait to make this a yearly tradition!


Perhaps this is why Jack was up throwing up later that night. His dad supplied the liquid sugar straight from the source!

Keep Away

We are training our sheepdog for the next summer olympics. Hopefully they will come up with a keep away competition (they have dumber events) and surely Pax will bring us home the gold! Oh what we do for cheap entertainment!

Update

I can't believe how much he has grown in one short year! The first picture was taken shortly before Christmas last year! What a fun year it has been watching him change so much. I am getting excited to open presents with him because he can't wait.... literally.....I have had to tape several presents back shut. So if you get a gift from us that looks like it's been through World War III and has teeth marks.....you can thank Jack. We both made it home from the mall alive and actually had a great time spending the day together. I miss the time that he and I would share together alone everyday so it was great to go out on a date with my little man! We didn't get much Christmas shopping done but I did get a couple new shirts so it wasn't a bust. And of course we came home with a little something for Jack and his baby sister. A shopping trip wouldn't be complete without that!

Tomorrow is Ryan's company holiday party so we are headed to Salt Lake to the Hale Theatre for dinner and to watch A Christmas Carol. We went a few years ago to the play and I really enjoyed it so I'm getting excited! Also since we are going with Ryan's company that means his Mom and Dad will also be going which means our "babysitter" is unavailable. But never fear Aunt Jenny and Uncle Nate are coming over to watch the wild beast. Good luck guys - this is the first time that anyone other than Grandma or Mistie has ever watched him for more than an hour! Hopefully all goes smoothly and we will turn off our cell phones just in case it doesn't! Just kidding!
