Ryan thought his mighty elk deserved an appearance on the family blog so here he is. I figure since he will probably be gracing our home with his appearance someday, you all might as well meet him now!
The great white hunters....

Luckily it only took seven days of Ryan being gone instead of twelve and luckily the kids and I all survived being on our own for seven days!

More Farm
We renewed our annual pass to the farm today because we were bored and needed something to do. I love to take him there because he can run free and do his own thing. It's fun to watch Jack because everytime we go there he gets braver and braver. Today he wanted to kiss all of the animals that would let him. We had a great time despite that it was really windy! Ella had to spend most of the time in the stroller out of the wind but she did get out to feed the goats and take a few pictures!
I love that I have to squeeze him really tight to get him to hold still long enough for a picture!
Ella peeking out the crack in the stroller.
I love this picture-
Going in for the kiss.....
So you will probably be seeing a lot more farm pictures because we are going to have to go a lot to use our season pass!

Squash-Stache
Ella was looking good in her Squash-Stache.
Had to prove that we occasionally feed her healthy things although she's no dummy and much prefers the chocolate. (see previous ice cream post!)

I Scream... You Scream
We all Scream for Ice Cream.... Saturday was probably one of the last really warm days of the year. We took the opportunity and cleaned out the garage and finished up by enjoying an ice cream outside. We heard the ice cream man coming so we waited and waited but he never came down our street so we had to settle for what was in the freezer. The kids didn't mind though and Ella totally enjoyed her first taste of chocolate and ice cream! If only she liked her rice cereal this much!
It only took three tries to get a smile out of him!
Look at the difference in their eye colors. I don't think you could get two more different than these!
These pictures cracked me up. Everytime Dad and Jack weren't looking she took the opportunity to try and snag her some more ice cream!

6 Months
Six months already??? I can hardly believe that Ella has been in our family for 6 months already. She is growing up so quick and is turning into such a big girl. She had her first few bites of food which she wasn't a fan of and she is learning how to sit up. She isn't a great sleeper and spends half of the night in bed with mom and dad. I was never ever a fan of co sleeping but when you are exhausted you quickly become one! Yesterday at her checkup she put on quite the little flirting show with the doctor and he thought she was the cutest thing ever! (I'm sure he tells everyone that but we know she is REALLY the cutest!) Here are her stats at 6 months...
Weight- 16.6 lbs 69th percentile
Length- 26.75 inches 88th percentile
Head- 17.5 inches 94th percentile
Looks like Jack's not the only Paxman with a big head!
We love you baby girl and have thoroughly enjoyed the last six months with you!
Thought we'd make it a little more modest and add a bikini!
And keeping with tradition.... here is Jack at exactly six months.

Potty Train
Ya, that's right. We boarded the potty train! Choo Choo.... Okay so whenever we have talked to Jack about potty training him he thinks we are going to ride a train. He always says he's going with Grandma Rosie and follows up the conversation with a CHOO CHOO. Well I was nowhere ready to board the potty train but apparently Jack was. Yesterday he pooped on the potty TWICE both times telling me he had to go and both times me thinking "ya right, like that's going to happen" but letting him try anyway! Both times he was successful so we were off to a good start. Today he has worn underwear all day and has only had one accident. Who knows if this will last...he may just as easily decide to get off the train.... but you never know he has surprised us all so far!
(Don't mind the pile of laundry in the background. At least it's clean right??? Right?? Right???)

Happy Birthday Emma
Last Saturday we celebrated Emma's birthday a little early. We wouldn't all be in town on the actual day so we decided that we would party early. She wanted to go to the Kangaroo Zoo so that's what we did. I thought for sure there would be a million and a half kids there on a Saturday but surprisingly NOBODY was there. We were practically the only ones. I didn't take my camera there so no pictures of the kids enjoying it but it's not like I would have been able to take some anyways. Ella was in the middle of her Ear Infection drama and I didn't know it yet and she was one cranky baby. We bounced all around the place. Not on the toys but me bouncing her all around trying to get her to quit SCREAMING! Poor little girl was really sick so we didn't stay too long. Back at my house we had made Emma some cupcakes and decorated the house for her party. She was so excited and all the kids ate several cupcakes!
Okie loved the cupcakes too!
Jack was in heaven....
The cakes....
All the kids.... Hunter, Hannah, Emma, Okie, Jack and Ella
Jack COULD NOT wait for Emma to blow out her candles!
Ella did her best to enjoy the party too.
Emma's birthday is always a little special to Ryan and I because she was born on our fourth date. When he picked me up that night five years ago(I was living with my sister at the time) Mandy told me that she thought she was going to have the baby that night. She was like 6 weeks away from her due date so I told Ry she was a hypochondriac and lets go on our date. We were up in the mountains having a picnic and our phone kept ringing but we kept ignoring it because we were having fun. Turns out Mandy was at the hospital and by the time we got off the mountain I barely made it to the hospital in time to see her born. So it's always a good reminder when it's Emma's birthday of how long Ryan and I have been together! Happy Birthday Em!
One of my favorite pictures ever.... Hunter, Hannah and Emma.
Me getting ready to go watch the surgery. SO SO glad I didn't have to have a C-Section after watching one!

The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
Let's start with good first....Jack POOPED on the PoTTy today! Could be a one time thing but at least we know it's possible. He needed a book to read and it wasn't 3 seconds later when he proudly declared to me that he did it! Here's to hopefully more of these good things!
The Bad.... Jack learned how to open the fridge yesterday. For two days I have been the recepient of many random things. Pepperoni, ranch dressing, string cheese, yogurt, I could go on and on. Needless to say we will be investing in some sort of lock for the refrigerator! Sidenote too... his favorite toy lately... a latex examination glove. He is so weird!
And on to the UGLY.... Ella has been miserable the last few days with an ear infection. Ella miserable = the whole house miserable. She is usually such a great baby but when she is sick she lets you know it! Luckily today she woke up with a smile on her face and has been feeling much better. Saturday Ryan was out of town when I had to take her to Instacare. We were there for more than 2 hours and by the time we got out all the pharmacy's were closed so we had to drive to Provo to the only 24 hour pharmacy in Utah valley. The kids and I were out driving around going to the doctor and getting medicine until nearly midnight! It was a long long long day but i'm glad I did end up taking her to the dr.

09-09-09
This only happens once in a lifetime so to celebrate I am going to list 09 things I'm thankful for:
Diet Pepsi- Ya I know it's a bad habit oh but it tastes so good!
5 O'Clock- Such a great time. Usually means i've survived another day with the munchkins and Ryan will be home soon.
Money- Probably sounds materialistic but it sure does make the world go round.
Fall- My favorite time of year despite that it's also hunting season!
Diapers- Seriously don't think I could be a Mom without them!
Traveling- Makes my heart happy and I love doing it with the people I love.
My Kiddos- enough said.
Marriage- Always having a built in best friend even if he won't go to the mall with me!
Ya well this was a great idea and all but apparently my computer has different plans and only wants me to be thankful for 8 things! Hopefully on 10-10-10 on the top of my list can be a new computer! This dang thing only works half the time!

Dreams
Just quickly wanted to post this so I don't forget! The last couple of nights Jack has had some funny outbursts while sleeping. I always wonder what kids would dream about and now I know! A couple of nights ago I hear " MOM MOM MOM...." I run in there and just as I open the door I hear him saying "Cake.... Cake.... Want it!" all the while both of his arms are hanging out the bars on the crib trying to get some cake! I go to soothe him and he is sound asleep yelling for some cake. Maybe he is my kid after all. Last night same thing I was summoned to his room but last night he was yelling at someone that he wanted to color and draw!
Last night we also had a rather interesting ride home from Jen and Nate's house. They had us over for a BBQ but of course all Jack ate was chocolate milk and ice cream so needless to say he had a tummy ache and released it all over the car. Ya that's right he puked all over my car and all day he has proudly told anyone that we passed. Sorry Mr. Old Navy salesman who insisted on trying to understand what Jack was telling you... you may have heard more than you bargained for!
