Horses, Cows, and Alpacas.... Oh My!

This weekend was beautiful and we took advantage of the warm weather all weekend long. Saturday we went for breakfast at IHOP with the Paxman family and although it's always chaotic going out to eat with the Jacker Man we enjoyed a delicious meal. After we ate we decided Jack would love a trip to the farm. Although it was naptime he held it together and we had lots of fun seeing all of the animals. It's been all winter since we have been there but it was fun to see how much he has changed since the last time we were there. He LOVED feeding the animals this time and although we bought some corn to feed them he insisted on feeding them all the little pieces that everyone else had dropped. He sure is a cheap date to bring along to the farm and since we have a season pass we will probably be spending a lot of time there this spring! I had a good chuckle at this picture because his hair is standing up just like the horses hair. I think he may have got his love of horse riding and his hair from his mother.
This was our pony named Stoney who was like 500 years old and balding but I loved riding him all over our farm!

Happy UnBirthday Little Man

So Ryan sits up in bed this morning and proclaims that today is Jack's unBirthday! He officially turned 18 months old this morning. Ry is so weird with numbers and dates, he can tell you more about important dates in our life than I can which is unusual for a guy but it does come in handy! I figured that since he remembered I better document what our little guy is doing at 18 months. He loves to clean and can often be spotted carrying around the broom and dustpan. Over the past couple of warm days my driveway has been swept spotlessly! (If only he could actually get the dirt picked up and not just smeared around.) He also loves to vaccum and to wash my windows with baby wipes. His Grandma Rosie is a little concerned that he might aspire to be a janitor but whatever makes him happy .....right? He can tell you what most animals say and when we ask him at dinner if he wants a bite of chicken he proudly proclaims "Bawckkk Bawcckk." (or however you spell what a chicken says!) He knows several other words but mostly prefers to point at what he wants and scream "MAMA MAMA MAMA" until I come and get what he is referring to. I tell him to use his words and he usually sputters out something that sometimes resembles the item he is asking for. He loves playing on the slides and much to my dismay he now knows what a McDonalds is and begs to go there when we drive by. Don't worry about his nutrition though... he doesn't want to eat anything there, he only wants to stop in to play!

This is one of his new found favorite toys..... he likes to sit in this bucket and read his books. I tell him to go get in his boat and he hurries and jumps in. His favorite book is one about Grandmas that was produced probably in the 70's - 80's ...... I mean seriously check out the clothes on this kid and the boombox! He doesn't mind the fashion though and we literally read this book 30 times a day!

Overall we love (mostly) every minute with our little guy and I can't believe that he has already been a part of our family for 18 months! Where did that time go?

In other news..... I went to the dr yesterday and he asked me "Would you like to be induced a week early?" HMMMMMM.................... Let me think about it...... YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Best question I have ever been asked! So we now have an official date of when she will be here unless she decides to come on her own will but I highly am doubting that prospect! Although now that I KNOW when she will be here it freaks me out just a bit. I all the sudden feel so unprepared and that I have a million things to do. I know it's only a week earlier than when she was due but the reality of it has finally started to sink fully in! So these last couple of weeks I plan on spending tons of time with Jack and going to do some fun things and trying to squeeze in some time to clean my house. If the later part fails, my Mom is coming the weekend before I have Ella and I'm sure she would love to help me clean. (or just do the work for me!!) Love you Mom!

Spring Fever

Seriously I don't know how many days more of cold weather we can take! Jack stands at the back door and screams every day because he is dying to go out and play. Luckily this weekend it warmed up just enough that we could start some spring cleaning in the garage and Jack could wander around outside. He was in heaven and we even made some progress on the garage. It's a good thing Ryan's truck is too long for our garage because with all our crap there is definately only room for one car in there! After we got some cleaning done we decided we would hurry and take Jack to the park before it got too cold. Unfortunately it got cold way before Jack was ready to go home! Here he is enjoying the slide before we broke the news to him that we had to go home.Shortly after we broke the news to him and he began his death grip on the slide.

And this is what happened when Ryan picked him up to make him go home. This is about two seconds after he punched his Dad in the nose for making him let go of the slide! So for our sanity...... please Spring.... come soon!

And the Award goes to....

I think I may have now been nominated and won the award for WORST mother of the year. Jack has had a cough for almost 2 weeks now but so have Ryan and I so I wasn't too concerned. I figured it was just a cold. Yesterday I just got the feeling that something else was wrong so I made an appointment with the Dr. We went yesterday afternoon and my son had a "RAGING" ear infection. Yep, those were the exact words out of the Dr's mouth. I think he thought I must be retarded that I hadn't picked up on the fact that Jack had an ear infection. Let me explain though that this kid really doesn't ever complain about being hurt. He never pulled at his ear or gave me any indication that he was in constant pain. He has though been acting like a TERROR the last few days but I chalked that up to getting close to turning two. (The behavior may or may not have had anything to do with the ear infection. Perhaps he really is just a monster- time will only tell!) SO long story short.... we started the antibiotics last night and he slept clear through the night! Wahoo... the best night of sleep I've had in a couple of weeks! Next time I won't wait so long to take him to the Dr and i'm sure the next time .... it will just be a cold!

Big Brother

I tried to post this yesterday when we announced Ella's name but for some reason it wouldn't work. So here it is.... better late than never. Don't mind the fact that he looks like an orphan.

Jack has become obssessed with my stomach and belly buttons. It's not enough though to just look with a shirt on so here he is trying to lift up my shirt so he can "knock knock" the baby. Yes that big black blob is baby Ella and yes I can no longer see my toes!

Ella's New Room

We have all been under the weather at our house for the last week or so, hence we have done nothing fun to blog about! But since I start to get complaints when I haven't posted anything new I am giving you all a sneak peek of the babies new room. We still need to add some finishing touches like a rug and some decorations on her shelves but for the most part it is ready! All we need now is a bundle of joy to put in it! Speaking of which... I am getting ready for this bun to come out of the oven. I joked when I was pregnant with Jack that I was going to document how much I disliked being pregnant so that if I got any wild ideas I could quickly remember how much fun it isn't being pregnant. I know some people love it but unfortunately i'm not one of them! I do however like the end result so it's worth it!

I made Ryan take some pictures of my baby bump last night but I will spare you all the sight and instead here's a picture of Ry and I.And sorry to disappoint but I have no new pictures of Jack and he is asleep and if you think i'm waking him up for a picture- you're nuts! And if you didn't catch it in the title of this post "the baby" finally has a name- we can't wait to meet Ella!

My new sweet baby - Attempt #2

Okay- not much better but we will take it!! (SEE PREVIOUS POST!)

My new sweet baby -

Okay so I did this little experiment while I was waiting for Jack to go to sleep and this is what it came up with! Please pray that this isn't what our baby turns out like! It did however provide me with a few minutes of uncontrollable laughter!

Sugar Cookie Explosion

We decided to make sugar cookies this afternoon because I have been craving a big pink frosted sugar cookie for a few days now. Needless to say they didn't quite turn out what my craving had in mind but they were good anyways! Jack loved making cookies and it kept him busy for almost an entire hour- in Jack time that is like an eternity! So without further ado..... here is our sugar cookie making experience in pictures! (Jack picked green frosting so we made green valentine heart cookies!)

P.S. Jack's cookie is still up for grabs.... it's just missing all it's frosting and sprinkles-Let meknow if we have any takers!

No, It's not Chocolate....

Why when there is an entire yard of grass does my kid have to find the mud? He had his partner in crime with him (Avery) and they both had a great time making a giant mess. Don't worry- as punishment he had to wear some of Avery's pink heart socks home because we didn't have any extras with us! He sure was embarrassed!
