Happy Un-Birthday to you Jack!

Saturday was Jack's un-Birthday so we celebrated with a trip to In-and-Out and to the mall. Those were our plans for the day anyway but it sounds better that we actually made plans and celebrated! Our quick trip to the In-and-Out which Jack refers to as "the hamburger store" was more like a trip to the order your food and cross your fingers that someone's almost done eating so you can have a seat and then cram in to the restaurant like a bunch of sardines, hurry and eat so someone else can have your seat kind of trip! Although it's good I don't think it's that great and definately wouldn't sit in the drive thru for 30 minutes for it! And I definately wasn't impressed when Ryan heard somebody order their fries "animal style" and so Ryan had to try it and changed his order and we ended up with some fries slimed with cheese and some kind of onion mixture. I didn't let him live this one down all day long that he had ruined the fries!
Okay, back to the original purpose of this post.....
Jack at 2.5 years old.....
He is a handful...
Loves to tell me to "Hold my Pee Wee" when I tell him to do something....
Went to the dentist today and they said he did better than almost all 2 yr olds...
Is getting quite the vocabulary and surprises us with new sentences everyday....
He is quite the mirror and loves to repeat all the nice things he hears people say...
for example.... SHUT UP....which i'm not happy about so when he tells you that... I'm sorry!
Did I mention he's a handful??
Doesn't eat hardly anything but when he wants to eat he loves pancakes.
LOVES to cook and clean. Can't decide what he will be.... the janitor or the lunch lady.... I mean Lunch man!
Still is super mean to his sister and if you mention pepper even while you are cooking... he will inform you that he doesn't like it..... it's spicy! (think he's had it a few times?)
LOVES his Grandma's and begs to go there constantly! Is spoiled rotten while he is there!
LOVES his sippy and apple juice.
Is COMPLETELY potty trained!
When you ask him what you do with deer.... he tells you SHOOT THEM!
Courtesy of my brother.... he bosses me around and tells me to DO IT!
HE is my FAVORITE little two year old..... although I can't wait til he can me my favorite THREE year old and leave the TERRIBLE TWO's behind!

My Three Valentines

Valentines Day was very low key this year but I did spend it with the loves of my life. Ryan and I managed to go out on a dinner date on Friday night while the kids got spoiled at Grandma and Grandpa's. We went to the new restaurant called the Blue Lemon in Highland and had some yummy food. Ryan was not impressed because the portion size of his $14 fish tacos was tiny and he said he could have ate three plates full of them! Needless to say although it was good.... it was quite spendy and we probably won't be heading there again anytime soon! Especially if we have to buy 3 entrees of tacos at $14 a pop!
But we did have fun and enjoyed the time without any munchkins hanging off our legs! Although I am quite fond of those two little munchkins often found hanging off of me!

Sleeping Beauty

Our little princess has reverted back to some terrible sleeping habits and we are all suffering! Last week it was because of ear infections and after being up several nights in a row all night long.... she was worn out by dinner time. We couldn't help but laugh at her because she was so tired and even us yelling at her couldn't keep her awake. Don't worry I stopped the torture after just a few minutes and let her sleep in my shoulder!
And just this morning I was suffering the effects of getting no sleep once again. I for the life of me couldn't figure out why I couldn't see very well..... was getting a little worried that my vision had suddenly changed dramatically, that is until I looked in the mirror and realized I was wearing Ryan's glasses instead of mine! Let's all keep our fingers crossed for some sleep tonight!

Mardi Gras..... Utah Style
The neighborhood preschool who has a teacher from Louisiana decided to have a mardi gras parade and we were invited to attend. It was a total of like 5 kids riding their decorated bikes and throwing candy and beads but Jack loved it! (remember this was Utah style so all shirts were left on!) :) It was so great to actually get out of the house for a few minutes even if Jack did have to wear his fleece snowsuit because it was CHILLY! We have started just putting the fleece suit on first thing in the morning because he wants to live outside in the backyard. I don't feel quite as guilty letting the wild beast out when he's dressed in his warm suit!
Jack's friends Karlee and Tyson.
Jack INSISTED we make a detour to the park on the way home.... even if it was for only three minutes!
Love this picture of them smiling at each other on the swings!
Love them.... don't love my five chins but it was the only picture of all three of us! I also love how Ella is trying to push Jack away!!

Out with the old..... In with the new.....
So I held out on this for a long time but i'm happy to report Jack is finally out of his crib and it was a PIECE OF CAKE. We decided to sell his crib and needed to get him out of it in the next couple of months. So at nap time the other day I told him that another baby needed his crib so he needed to sleep in his big boy bed now. To my complete shock he said okay.... hopped in and went to sleep. We've so far had several days of naps and sleeping all through the night in his new bed with no problems. We're keeping our fingers crossed that this continues! I think he doesn't think he can get off the bed because he has yet to do it and always hollers as soon as he wakes up for us to come get him down. As happy as I am that this all went over so smoothly.... it's just one more sign that my BABY BOY is GROWING UP!! Sad... Potty trained and a big boy bed.... time to have another one! (totally kidding!) I will have to say I am loving that he is potty trained and only having one in diapers!!

Love her…
Just wish she would keep a darn bow in her hair or grow some more of it so she didn’t look like a little boy! She had the cutest pink dress on yesterday and she looked like the cutest little boy in a pink dress!
But……..I guess we’ll keep her anyway!

This kid!!
He is into everything and will not stay in the house..... so neighbors when you see him out playing in the backyard without a coat and no shoes..... well I've told him 1,923,897 times to stay in the house and he just won't listen.... If spring doesn't come soon.... I may just have to pull my hair out!!

School Days
This last week in Idaho I took the kids into my mom's class to visit. They both LOVE going to school. Jack loves to cook, paint, play computer and this time he especially loved the lunch! He ate an entire cheese sandwich and a whole bowl of soup. He didn't even wait to be served... he just grabbed his own sandwich and went to town! He's funny when he gets by the computer he either says he is going to check his email, do homework, or check his stats. (You think he's heard these things a few times?) Ella liked listening to the music and just loved all the attention from the kids and yes, she enjoyed lunch too. She's our eater!

The Dress
This weekend at my mom's house she convinced me that I could sew a dress and that it wasn't that hard so I attempted it. First attempt..... Dress was big enough to fit Jack! Second attempt.... (luckily bought extra material)we used the newborn size (pattern sizes were so off!)and it almost fits. Still a little big but she has a few months until time to wear it. First sewing experience.... not too bad.... please just don't make fun of her when she wears it!
It took Jack some convincing to try the dress on because Ella was asleep and we had to see how it looked on. He was not a fan.... UNTIL I showed him how dresses can twirl and THEN he didn't want to take it off! (Don't worry I think his manlihood wasn't harmed.... he told me this morning he wanted to shoot some deer!)

Oh my....
This kid never ceases to amaze me....
This is the outfit he chose to wear all day. Ya know, whatever makes him happy!
And this little princess..... well she has developed quite the attitude. Luckily we still love her! And this picture shows her teeth very well...... her dad has lovingly coined her "field goal!"
